Some thing you can do on your Hurst shifter

Today i made an isolator for the two part shifter from hurst that removed the harmonics out of the handle i had this high pitch sound, If i was not on the gas.

If i held the handle there was no sound but if my hand was not on the handle it made the sound, So i got some 1/16" Teflon and cut a piece as big as the mating area of the 2 haves and then drilled two 3/8 holes in the same place as the two haves.

When you put it back together first start the threads by hand so you don't strip the threads. I hope you like it as it got the last bit of sound out of my shifter.

what stick are you using? I am sporting the stock knot and the black shifter. . . no issues of noise at all.

Where do you get the teflon in that form?

Is it a staple of the typical big-box hardware store or do I have to hunt somewhere specific?
