How to find out how many allocations a dealer has?

Hi everyone.

I did a search but couldn't find an answer, probably because there are 1000 threads with the word "allocations" in them.. So I hope this isn't a repost..

Is there a way to check online how many allocations chevy dealers have for 2010 Camaro's? (Without needing to take a salesman's word for it)

Thanks much!

Don't think so, you have to ask your dealer. I have seen a paper at my dealer that shows how many allocations they have for all the different models, not just Camaros. Don't take his word, ask to see something that shows how many if any they have. Check the date on it.

Oxymoron?
Unfortunatly, my dealer was an honest place to work with and has since closed. He was a small dealer in the burbs. Buddy Peacock was the GM and a helluva good guy. Wouldn't take a deposit as he said " If you don't want it, I will have no problem selling it." Pre-Order at MSRP. Others wanted up to 7K over MSRP.

Hey! If he sets it up, don't blame me for teeing off on it!

I drove three counties away to a dealer who said over the phone that it was a grand down and at MSRP. When I got there, it was seven grand down and MSRP when it comes in, Oh By the way, we are going to keep your seven grand too. This was after being there fifteen minutes filling out forms. When I bought months later at another dealer I didn't fill out as many as did there.
I just got up from the table and knew not to start arguing with the guy as it would do no good and I would just get pissed. I went from being elated to wanting to kick over the table to let them no how pissed I was driving from Kentucky to Indiana because of their deception.
Another dealer wanted six grand over. Thirty five hundred and twenty five hundred at two others. One wanted a non refundable one thousand dollar deposit and I wouldn't know the price until it came in as it would be based on what the dealers were getting over MSRP. Only Brown Bros Chevrolet and Springhurst were selling at MSRP that I knew of and they were the two smallest dealers.
Have you read the horror stories on here from the RP6 orders in the price changes? I thought I had one preordered up in Indy only to find out two months later when I wanted to delete the spoiler that it had not been ordered. They were taking more orders than they had Camaros coming in.
I really hate to see SpringHurst go under and those others stay in business but most of all, it is bad for GM that they are still in business.
After all of this, I still had not seen a Camaro much less sit in one but still wanted it. My Camaro was the first time I sat in one.
How many future customers did GM lose who wouldn't put up with this but went ahead and bought a Mustang? Who knows but when they go buy their next car it might very well be a Fusion instead of a Chevy.
I could had bought a Mustang for thousands less than my Camaro because my sister is retired from Ford and my brother-in-law works at a Ford plant. Actually, I really feel bad for GM having the face of their company out there with little control over how it is being presented.

Yes.......

Lots of dealers acted like it was the California Gold Rush when production started.

Those are the same one's that would sell their Grandmother if she had a VIN. Like in decades gone past those bums tainted the entire industry and they acted just like snake oil salesmen.

Some others on here have proven themselves not to be in that larger group.
