Acceleration whine in cold weather?
Does anyone else's Camaro whine when reaching the mid-to-higher RPMs when it's cold out? I swear it sounds like I have a supercharger, when I really, unfortunately, don't :( I think there's something wrong. I'll try to get a video up really soon.

I haven't heard anything like that. The transmission whines some when decelerating but that's it. Does it sound like it's coming from the engine, transmission, or differential? Do you warm the car up a little before driving on cold days?

Have you made any audio alterations? Is the whine coming from your speaker or engine? Kinda sounds like it could be alternator whine..

my car whines. i live in florida. it i still warm it up. and when i drive it whines for the first 2 mins then it goes away. any ideas?

I think you're just hearing typical engine whine. You've got 8 pistons spining a 2 1/2 foot long drive shaft connected to a transmission thats conected to a differential and so on. Thats a shit ton of metal on metal contact that even with lubrication will produce some kind of harmonic resonance. If you get 2 pieces of metal and rub them together really fast with your hands, you'll get get some kind of noise. Every vehicle I've ever had, (including the Camaro) has made some kind of whinning noise at certain points of the RPM band. Check you're oil just to be safe, but I would not be to concerned about it. The best solution? Get a loud ass exhaust and crank up the tunes.

I heard this earlier on the way home from work. I heard it from about 4-5.5 krpm. I turned off the heater fan and radio and tried to reproduce it but couldn't. I thought I was crazy and stopped trying.
