Talking I Quit!

I put in my notice at the call center. It's one of those jobs that never ends well. One of my co-workers today took up employment at UPS. After failing to get a schedule change, he told them goodbye, explaining that work at UPS is great. When you do a good job, someone has the decency to say so. When you work at this call center, he said he feels like a bad kid getting scolded everyday by his parents. There's only coaching forms and low quality scores graded by people who oftentimes did worse before their promotions. It's the Soviet Union of call centers. Everything bad that could happen does, and all the while we're expected to be delightful to customers who frequently behave in ways I can only imagine animals do in the wild.

I'm leaving to take a 2-day course in Chicago to help prepare me for a certification I will need for another job I am going to take when I get up there. This is the best thing that has happened to me since asking my fiancée to marry me and the second best thing to happen in my life since graduating from KU just under a year ago.

I'd like to toast to all of us who have left a poor job for a better one, but very few of you are probably holding glasses or mugs right now.

It always feels great to leave one door to walk into another with better opportunity. You have to take care of number 1. I did it and it was the best decision Randy and I ever made!!!!! Cheers to you

My next gig leads to an early Camaro order. You don't exactly get certified to do customer service.

I had the misfortune of working in a few call centres before. How degrading! Your like cattle tied to the stalls by the phone cord. They try their pathetic RAW RAW shit to try to motivate you.

Now I am self employed and make in the six figures. I can GUARANTEE you, you did the right thing!!

All the better if it gets your car sooner I've done the call center trip too, I completely understand wanting to move on. Sincerely... all the best of luck with your next job

Best of luck. I'm not a fan of leaving a job before another one is lined up but sometimes you just gotta do it. I have. Here's to a new Camaro sooner rather than later.
Keep us posted.
