whats up kb and whipple

been pushing installs since 2/18 that needed buyers and were to recieve sc by feb 22-24...and would start banging them on non stop... booked thru mid march...well ,is this bs? cause i yet to see 1 dyno or 1 customer comment3/3/10....is there some problem ? if you asked people to commit there car and there time to install sc, yet i cannot find a post lately WHY there are not dozens of kb,s installed.is there only 1 distributor? i don,t see whipple lately blowing smoke and needing presales.i assume that there sc is not close enough to launch , but touting that kb,s would be in and installed b4 march and yet still no sc #,s ...how about a real definitive date , that these will be in stock and installed...are they still rd or what...this is the age of computers and cell phone technology...either post #,s or stop promising shipping dates....at least when we ordered our camaro,s we could track them and get an idea when it was built and ready for shipping....just venting ...tired of hearing its coming but not really..

First off, your post is EXTREMELY hard to read. Its one huge run-on sentence.

Secondly, the kits are already shipping (some came to Vegas today), and there are CURENTLY installs. Not to mention dyno numbers, and track times (and videos) posted on this forum. Were actually sending out our own truck on friday to pick up quite a few.

We appologize for not rushing out and posting 100's of videos and pictures, but they can only be done as the build is progrerssing.

Lastly, when a new product is released, although there may be a thousand guys who say their gonna buy it, they ALWAYS clam up until they start seeing other people with them. So dont expect to see dozens of kits for a while.

But if you would like a kit, then put up your CC, and you will be shipped one tomorrow. But until then, dont bash something you have zero intention of owning.

Is it me or does that seem to be a whole lot of boost for a stocker.
The KB is probably just starting to work, but could the engine be starting to not work.

Yes, that is on the high side, but its been being done for quite a few years in the Corvette World. The motor will last provided its tuned correctly, and has proper fuel. Bothj of which they are doing.

There are dozens upon dozens of Corvettes that are running in the 700rw range on stock bottom ends, so he's still in the safe zone..
Now.... That tranny.. Not so much.. But he's prepared for it.

Well I am standing by to stand by. I am real interested to see numbers for an L99 safe tune, and boost from a twin screw. I have always been interested in them ever since I had my Mudstain Cobra.

You pointing out poor grammar, that's some funny sh!t right there.
As for people putting up $7000, might be a little easier decision to make based of off some data. I have a stack of cash sitting here, ready to drop in someone's account. But like the OP said, Whipple went silent and we haven't seen much from the KB's yet.

Total Perf Eng, i have emailed you about the 3.6 blower with no reply. I am just curious if you know anything about it, because i am 100% in for buying one as soon as possible for my lsx 427.

I've been hearing KB and Whipple availability for months (or years for that matter). Kind of like BIGFOOT.....lots of "sightings", but not anything of real substance. I hope they do get it together. They're not there yet.

I'm betting that if you guy's were all that serious you would just order directly from KB yourself. Unless you dont have that option like we do for the Mustang wich seem's very unlikely.

With a stack of cash sitting there, have you considered the STS twin turbo system? I know this isn't a turbo thread, but I'm just asking.

I'm on the fence right now between SC's and T's. I'm leaning toward the STS twin t setup.

I'm wondering whether a SC or a T, when accompanied with a mild tune and the lowest boost setting would be more taxing on the engine and transmission. Anyway, I know that goes beyond the scope of this thread.

But which SC setup are you leaning toward right now?

If you go STS, the schematic of your Camaro will look similar to a firetruck. Lines and hoses going in all directions. If it's not bad enough that the air has to go from one end of the car to the other, the oil does too. It's a good idea until you look at it a little closer. That's a lot of clamps etc to keep tight. Even worse is the propensity of all that extra plumbing to rattle. If the STS was my only option for f/i, I wouldn't consider forced induction.

My goal is to make close to 600rwhp on the stock engine, reliably. I drive my cars hard on the street and track so my concerns are with heat sink and high IAT's pulling timing and power over a 45 minute session. I am not a fan of big front mount intercoolers, but I am starting to think they might be the lesser of two evils. Twin turbos up front might end up being the way to go, I am just hoping to see some favorable data on the twin screw blowers because the packaging is so clean and straight forward. STS definitely isn't an option for me.

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you're saying. So you think the KB is a better choice than the Maggie?
