Lighting

I’ve been working on lighting mods lately and have a few questions.
Are factory halos leds? I recently wired my halos directly off the fuse box with a piggy back so they come on with the ignition switch. If they are in fact leds, do I need to have a resistor in-line? I went with direct wiring as I was concerned with feed back if I used the factory harness but, now my concern is possible damage to the halos from not regulating the voltage if they are leds. Hope that all made sense.

Thanks for any info.

They are in earlier years such as ours a single LED and most likely low voltage, they only need a little power and most just cross wire a jumper from the side markers in front to the halos which keeps them on started and also has feed back to keep the DRL's on as fogs and most switch them out to LED's 13w for high power light...…. DIYGEN5.COM sells a simple jumper which is a couple T-taps with wire...I just use a wire and its much more simple to just braid the wire together old school and its not prone to short like a t-tap....The single LED just flows light through a plastic tube...……

Decided to check the voltage through the stock harness wire and through my direct wiring from the fuse box.
12.2 from the harness - 12.4 from the fuse box. I’m guessing the .2 volt difference shouldn’t make trouble for the halos but, feel free to chime in and let me know if indeed I should be concerned.

Thanks

I believe there is a small voltage drop of .7V across the led.
