Ga Super Speeder

I heard in Jan. Ga will start a new super speeder law. On 2 lane roads if you are going over 75mph and any other roadway over 85mph not only will you have to pay the speeding ticket for your local agency, but the state of Ga will send you a ticket for an additional $200. Be careful!

If you slow down you wont have to worry about it. Furthermore if you live in Georgia you know that speeding is a rampant problem here,especially in the metro Atlanta area hwys, and that the regular flow of traffic is normally 15mph above the posted speed limit and the fines associated with them are not enough to deter speeders. Folks just don't care about the prices of tickets if they get them. So it's more than GA trying to get money anyway it can. Folks just haul a** all of the time, including me..lol.

Hell in VA if you get one for 20 over the limit it's an automatic $1,000 fine, yep that's right. I'm glad my street racing days are over and i don't live there anymore.

In NC, 16 or more over is supposed to be an automatic license suspension

Lucky for me my ticket was when it was... I got a 110 in a 70 coming through GA .
Dont flame me... it was midnight and no cars around on the interstate... at least until the cop came flying up behind me

Yeah, I've been living here for about 18 months now, and I've learned that there's an invisible +15 mph added to every metro-Atlanta speed limit sign. I bought my SS a week before I saw the announcment of this new law on the front of the AJC. A guy at work actually bought the paper, brought it to my desk and asked, "So that SS on the back of your car must mean 'Super-Speeder', right?"

I usually pay attention to the speeds, but on long trips up I-85 when I'm going back to SC, I sometimes hit the 85 to 90 mark. Will just have to be a little more careful. I still have a couple more days to 'super-speed' without the extra fines!
