There is new legislation proposed to only require 1 license plate. Said it will save IL $1 million a year.

Amazing what politicians will do to make the state money. Not this one, but it seems that everything "evil" is okay if they need to make money. Just look at legalizing gambling and medicinal marijuana.

I hope this passes so I don't have to worry about getting a ticket for no front license plate!!!

Once again the police are against it, yet crimes still get solved in the 17 states that don't require a front plate. Gee, I wonder how they manage to do it without that crime solving weapon the front plate. Mine will never have one, EVER.

Amen to that Tim. Thankfully, I think our Minooka PD are mostly good guys and gals and will not be bothering us. I was a little nervous at the Ace car show when a lot of them showed up, but not a word about the plates. Heck, my traverse that I drive every day doesn't have one and they never bother me. This law almost only applies within the city of Chicago, and definitely in the parking lots at the airports, they have meter maids patrolling for that stuff in those lots.

+1. They already had drilled the freakin bracket into my front bumper before I took delivery. I was so pissed, but oh well, thats life I guess.

For all those with brackets on the front, at least you would be able to put a cool plate on instead of the state plate.

I never put the front bracket on. Not going to regardless if the law is passed or not.
