ZL1 Recaros

Does anyone know the cost of the Reacaro seat option when they were ordered on a 5TH Gen ZL1? Also, does anyone have a solid number of how many 5TH Gen ZL1 Camaros came with Recaros? Thanks, Kevin C.

I do not think the count on these cars included ones with recaro seats. If I am not mistaken someone several years ago ask this question and I do not remember the guys name who worked at the assembly line building these cars but he broke down everything else but said he could not get a count on ones with recaro seats. From what I have read there were not to many cars that got them because of the cost for those. Some people don't like them but I have had both and I have them in the car I have now and I really really like them I really think if I was looking for a ZL1 now that would be a must have or I would pass on a car if it did not have them. If someone else has the answer the op wants chime in and help. Enjoy the seats!

They weren’t cheap and I have a love/hate relationship with my recaros

They are extremely comfortable and definitely keep you planted in your seat when you’re taking turns, however they are a true bear to get in and out of the car with the side bolsters and the fact that you have to open the Camaro doors all the way which is a PITA when parking

With my Z/28 I roll my seat all the way back for egress convenience. This also reduces contact with the outboard portions thereby reducing excessive/expensive wear.

There were a bunch on here that bought the 14-15 ZL1's with the recaro seats and the seat belt was rubbing the seat where it went through the holder on the side and they took them back to the dealer and they were replacing them. I bought some covers for the seat belts in my car and placed them under that holder and the belt runs through it to keep that from happening to mine since it is out of warranty. They even have the ZL1 emblem on them to!

About 2k, or 1,999 something along that line. They're excellent. Aftermarket the seats were running around $5,000 if memory serves me correctly. I believe they are unavailable from Recaro.

MSRP $1995.00 (available for 14s & 15s only). GM discontinued them some time ago and used sets out of SS and ZL1 often pop up online in the neighborhood of $2,500.00

If you can get them at that price then its considered a bargain. Recaro used to sell the seats aftermarket at least twice the msrp.

My buddy who did my build had a set in his shop that came out of his friends ZL1 that the bank was going to repo. They were taking it back to stock before they had them come pick it up, just had to give him my old seats to replace and $700. Right place at the right time I guess.
