Z28 CAI Issues

Just installed a z28 cold air intake yesterday. Probably my favorite intake so far for the 5th gen. Only issue I'm having is its pushing on the hood. I understand its supposed to seal against the hood but it looks like its pushing it up a little. Anyone else have this issue??

Yes!! Did you notice that on the bottom of the bucket I’ll call it, there’s a ball and socket affair. There’s a small plastic ball on the end of a little plastic stud that sits down into a part of the body as I recall. It’s easy to think that you have it in place and the inch or so is all the difference between sitting up too high and wrinkling the hood liner and being in the right position to seal properly. You’ll feel it snap in place when it’s in the correct position.

The rubber grommet might be stuck on the old OE intake. I can’t remember if the OE intake had a similar ball and socket holder but I think it did.
