i hit my mirror, backing out of my garage

i am still getting use to my car.... have had it for 2weeks..... this wont happen again, i can pull out fine now ... it was late one nite and i was with my friend, things happen.... we are only human .......lol .. it was not much damage... not even worth taking a picture off. the glass is fine the mirror works fine.. a small piece chipped off the outer part of the mirror, the size is a little smaller then a quarter.

. i am calling the dealer ship on monday... my dealer is closed for the weeken .... so i was wondering if anyone knew rough estimate on a mirror replacement would cost...???

If its just the mirror damage it will probably be like 70 bucks to replace the glass. Just guessing since it was 50 for my Cobalt mirror though.

The whole mirror with glass is $65 (but I got a discount because we have a shop). Maybe $100 to get it painted?

Sounds a bit cheap, I'd guess around $150 painted (I never lowball, it always hurts when the news is worse.)

Sounds like you just damaged the housing and not the glass mirror it'sself correct? If you still hace the piece that broke out I would get some JB weld and put the piece back on, sand it down and then repaint it.. It will last a long time and not cost much to fix..

JB Weld works wonders. Fixed my inner mirror plastic mount with it on my 96 Bonne, still holding to this day.

Maybe now would be a good time to consider getting a set of the LED mirrors like in this thread

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=55378&page=3

But they are kind of pricy, and it seems that you are cost restricted so may not be a good option for youy.

The dealer should know how much it's going to cost.

Those "LED mirrors" just don't look good. They don't look good during the day. They don't look good lit up at night.

Hmmm, well my dearest mother managed to crunch a mirror on my 4th gen Camaro (she will never live that one down ) and I believe it ran $200ish for a replacement. Hopefully it won't cost ya too much more than that!
