I feel dirty.

So I've had my new Camaro since Xmas and today it needed a fill up yesterday. Without thinking, I filled it with 87 grade gas. I owned a 95 f150 before this, so it is what I was used to. It didn't hit me until today that nice cars deserve nice things. I've treated fat girls better than this.

Anyhow, what are the cons of what I've done?

My understanding is that you're wasting your $ on anything higher than 87 on the LLT engine.

I don't see any harm in what you've done since regular unleaded is the recommended fuel for our engines.

That is what it is made to use. No performance or mpg gain with higher octane.
SIDE NOTE:
Did anyone see Myth Busters tonight where they test wether dimples in a car's body would aid in air flow over the car like a golf ball? They put clay over a car then ran 5 base line mpg runs smooth, then 5 with the dimples.
The results were...

An increase of 11% mpg at 65 mph.

Watching the re-run right now. Already saw it when it was a new ep, though. Interesting, yet futile thought. I have no idea how they'd make that a sustainable addition to a car's design.

Say good bye to pulling dents with the typical stick weld and dent puller.

So I guess I shouldn't get the hail damage on my wife's car fixed?

They use that also in bicycling suits as well ..... Wonder if they ever thought to use it in NASCAR ? Would help win a few on mileage ....

Yea, I've seen that episode before. Think, white dimpled camaro with "titleist 5" across the side. Oh, here's a picture.

or maybe even speed given the same restrictor plate sizing. due to the aerodynamic efficiency.
