Nearly hit by shopping cart

I drove to the grocery store today. It was rather windy. As I turned up the row to find a parking spot......here comes a huge shopping cart headed right toward me......driven by the wind.:(

I STOPPED! There was no parking space to duck into. THEN a store clerk appeared. He stopped the cart and took it. WHEW! A close one! I thanked him and he said he could not allow a shopping cart to hit a new Camaro!

Watch out for shopping carts on a windy day!

Nice Save! Windy days and a parking lot with a little pitch to them are very dangerous. Happy to hear disaster was averted.

I'll never take my Camaro to Wal-Mart for this reason. The supercenter's parking lot is full of rogue carts.

I have grabbed my fair share of runaway carts at the local wal-mart, just out of common sense more or less.

Wind is one issue...the people who cause them to be loose in the first place are the bigger one...

I was on a mission to KILL people yesterday leaving carts roll intentionally all over the place. Went to Staples in my G8, there were 2 random carts that I took pictures of just to prove a point later...come out 3.5 minutes after and a lady had pushed another out of the way and right into my G8's fender. Before I could go after her, hop in the Kia and buzz away...

The best part? In most of these situations, the cart return was only 1-2 spaces away...yet all these ass hats would rather let them fly & bounce than walk 5 or 10ft. Nice. I'll start recording license plate #'s and whether it be my car or someone else's, trying to make sure you get a repair bill. Thankfully no damage this time...but we've had it happen in the past...chunk out of a 300M's grille, dented door, and so on. Either need to stay home, yell at people, or be every lazy person's servant and scour a 100ft radius every time I park & put all random carts away...

Hmmm..instead of taking a picture of them..wouldn't it have been wiser to move them to the cart return??

I have gotten into the habit of clearing the area when I go into the store ! My wife now just shakes her head and told me, "I'll meet you inside after you clear the parking lot". Is it only Me ?????

Amen brother! No truer words ever spoken! Let's just say you can find some socially challanged people at Wal-Mart. That is why I don't go there.

i worked out on the lot for Costco first year there and during those wicked summer storms it was a nasty sight seeing a huge steel cart flying at a car at 5-10 mph. some i saw just disappear in between cars, others i saw hit dead on, really sucked balls.

Yes, it would have been, as I did Said it with a few too many words.

Then another wonderful person let one fly and ta-da...

Moral of the story. Walk 5ft, 10ft, or however many feet it is, put your cart away, or at least put it somewhere it won't blow around the parking lot.
