California Emissions?

So i found the camaro i wanted in my local area. For me its a 100% match of what i want but says California Emissions. Now what does this exactly mean? I know its obvioulsy made to pass in California but is power or anything sacrificed in the motor? Or does it just run cleaner? Thx in advance for clearing it up for me.

Probably both.

If they could make an engine run cleaner without sacrificing performance, then why wouldn't they do it for ALL states?

How much more?

'Cause I'm pretty sure MSRP is the same across the US.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Then again, I'm not the kinda guy to bust out a stop-watch on my car.... or a set of digital calipers to measure my manhood.

It does not cost more. (for costumer or manufaturer)

It does not run cleaner and it does not sacrifice power.

The California emissions code was used in the past for cars made for use with the higher california standards. However, all states have now caught up with those same standards. Cars are also more efficient now than they were years ago. All new cars being manufactured are up to the California and federal standards. The code just stayed and hasn't been removed, but I can assure you that all California emissions Camaros don't sacrifice any power or are any different from others.

The California special Mustang is a package, not an emissions code

I stand corrected. The GT CS has body additions the regular GT doesn't have.. Prob. the price difference.

Edit: Yep ^^
