Whipple vs ECS super charger
Looking on opinions between these two. I am looking at super chargers and the shop near me recommended either of these. I am not too familiar with ECS so I wanted to see if anybody has it and what they think. Also any others that have great knowledge of the two that can break down some differences and similarities. Thank you in advance

End goals?
Whipple ton of low end grunt peaks at about 900WHP with all supporting mods, harder on drivetrain due to the instapower Centri still makes a ton of torque just comes on easier and not quite as low rpm. some of them are very loud sounding like a jet engine (personally hate that). Typically have more peak HP potential, easy to swap head units if you need bigger. My experience is with a whipple though, haven't driven a centri on these cars.

Centri here and am very happy. ESS is the system I went with and other than crap directions, the kit is top quality and the price is damn good compared to others. Greens post above nailed down the differences.

Also, the ESS system allows the easy swap of many different head units. You could swap in heads that could support well north of 1k whp. Simply unbolt and bolt the new one on. Its a great system

I have the ECS Novi 1500. Love it. The car is a beast. Very simple to increase boost. They also work really well with a nice cam. I'm at 710rwhp but could easily go 900 but then drive line would start to need upgrades too. Highly recommend ECS because their customer support is so good.

I have a whipple and it has been trouble free for 25k+. Great power and drives like stock car unless your on it. the torque is amazing throughout the power curve.
The driveline can handle it until you get tires that hook, then it is break and repair time. |

If you plan on more than 700whp you should definitely consider it. I may wind up doing them myself too.

the ESC bracket is awesome...started with a 1500 and moved to a 2200 easily...I know some may fine the sound annoying.....but nothing beats that whooosh to me.

Everything you said there minus the th400 is what im doing. Ill invest the money in either building my 6l80 or going with a 6l90. I stuck a 3 speed in another car i had once amd swore id never do it again. I drive mine enough where i dont want to go too for towards the track only kind of setup. Another vote for the dss as well. I got the carbom fiber ome and it is super nice and very light

Thank you for all the input, to answer some questions thrown at me. My goal is to have about 750whp +-. Nothing too crazy and I don't plan to drag race it except for the occasional track day that a group of us put together. This car was a daily drive but with retirement from the air force and a new job. I now have the ability to have just a commuter car and this Camaro will be to go have fun when I want to. I don't plan to go E85 at all. It is hard to find in the NOVA area and I just plain don't want to.
I already have TSP headers, hi flow cats, I am currently Dyno tuned. And a CAI by Vavaram. Oh and catch can. I saw an older thread about this but wanted a more up to date feedback from individuals today. I plan to upgrade the rear/front bushings and some other suspension parts.
