No more launch control?

Hello everyone,

So recently I put headers exhaust and intake on my 2010 ss, i know for a fact that the competition mode in the car allows u to use launch control, I have done it twice where the car does t rev past 4K rpm I think it stopped at 3500 or so?

Anyways I got the car tuned from a friend and removed torque management and the skip shift and some other nice things while he tuned the car also added his custom rev limiter bouncy and pops when the car hits rev limiter

Anyways I came to use launch control and the car just revved all the way past its normal rev stop from its normal cut off, I thought I did it wrong becuase the car rolled back a bit but I tried it again on flatter surface and same thing the car revved passed it’s normal rev hold.

Could it be that since torque management was turn off it also turned off this launch control option?

To tell the truth I didn’t like how the car acted when I did use the launch control the few times I tried it

And when the car had the stupid torque management it was soo damn slow off the line

I did mention in a post I made that the car felt sluggish when I first bought it but after the tune all that slugginish is gone and the ls3 roars now

I talked to my buddy that did the tune and we can only come up with since torque management was turned off so was this launch control option

Any one experience this ?

Didn't know 2010s had launch control. Thought that was a 2013 and up thing. Its quite the possibility that tuning out torque management did disable the launch control. When I got my car tuned by Redline they dont tune out torque management they change the limits and were extremely adamant that turning it off was a bad idea and a common misconception and that inexperienced turners do that.

I know my car revs to like 4500ish then drops to 4k and holds for launch control

Since its a buddy see if turning on torque management enables it again. I mean let's be honest here, who really cares? The launch control on these cars suck.

I used mine a total of 10 times probably. Only once did it go like a bat out of hell. All the other times it either bogs super hard or blows the tires. Much more consistent and faster launching the normal way.

Chevrolet really dropped the ball by making it non adjustable. Even if they set it for a more realistic rpm say 2500 it would be at least usable.

I would think it had to do more with him adding something to the rev limiter. Launch control is pretty much garbage though. I tried it a few times stock and it just burned the tires as well as my brakes. Use your foot right and left feet for launch control they will work better once you're used to it.
