Wink Anyone feel like they will be castrated by key?

This was mentioned in another thread, but I find that the "switchblade" key often opens in my pocket. I feel like if I move the wrong way, that's it - there goes the family jewels...

The key is so blunt you can't really even use it to open up boxes.

Maybe you shouldn't wear such tight pants

Only if you are playing with it........................the key that is.

This is a 10 year old design used by VW and Audi (with a royalty paid to MB). GM has used it for some time now on Opels and Holdens and now on the new 2010 products.

Your fears are misplaced.

mmmmm.....no. I only wish GM would have made the key in such a way that the button was not so ...out there. I mean, I wish it was more flush to keep it from opening accidentally.

That is the problem. The key shares the same pocket as my cell phone, and that's what hits the button sometimes. My right pocket is for my wallet.

Yeah, I have to use my house keys to open packages now. +1 on the "no tight pants".

Shouldn't play with it anyways, your palms will grow hair!

I believe there was some study done, somewhere... that said it isn't wise for men to keep their cell phone in their pants/shorts pockets. I don't care about the study... I just think it's good practice and say, um... some common sense.

My problem is with the remote in my pocket sometimes it pops the trunk or sets off the horn alarm.

i love the switchblade. Im soo happy GM put time in the key because it is unique to the camaro, mustangs key is just conventional. Only problem ive had is coming out to an open trunk. Sometimes ive come out and its been popped while sitting at my friends house. I never know how log it has bveen popped for and in my area, having an unattended car with the trunk popped could be a VERY BAD scenario.
My jeans are not tigh as well and the key sits in its own pocket. Thank god it doesnt happen often though

It's not unique to the Camaro..."new" GM products '10 and forward will all have this key, and the Equinox right now has exactly the same bowtie laden variety. Mustang, in the same way, has the same one as other Fords.

Very nice, and better made than my G8's switchblade key from Oz.

The only problem I have with it is the angle it goes in the ignition switch, it just does not feel natural...
