Question About next suspension Mods, Control Arm/Upper Bushing/Crade Bushing.

Hi,

Current mods are in Sig below.
At some point I think I would Change the Control arms in rear and I was thinking the Upper Bushings, I believe the cradle has to be lowered to do the Upper Bushings so I figured I would do the Cradle Bushings at that time.

I am trying to avoid having to avoid dropping the cradle twice, I should have done everything at once when I did the other mods. I am very Happy with the Hotckis brace and the only reason I would do the Cradle Bushings now is if I had to drop the rear cradle for some other reason.

I am in no rush to do this and will just collect the parts slowly.

I used the Trailing Arms and BK039 UCA Bushing Kit in my build. I did not go solid on the Rear Cradle Bushings, and used the BK024 Cradle Bushings.
You are correct to do all of the suspension mods possible to achieve a balanced approach. Cradle Bushings, Solid or Urethane, are a must.
Detail of my Build for reference:

If you’re going to drop the cradle, do the solid cradle bushings too. I did the z/28 solid upper bushings, z/28 rear arms, and Pegasus cradle bushings (before they shut down). The uppers are a bit of a pain to do but it’s not terrible if you’re experienced with wrenching on cars. You’ll definitely need to drop the cradle to do those.

The Z28 ones are getting harder to find at a decent price, The BMR ones appear to be a nice option.

I have BMR's solid delrin cradle bushings. No issues at all. Great modification.

I am not sure if I want to do Delrin or aluminum for the cradle bushings, I'll probably keep the Hotckis brace on and like I said before I am very happy with it.

I’ll let you in on a little known secret that isn’t too widely known throughout the Camaro community. The z/28 upper control arms come with the solid bushings and are available on gmpartsgiant. You can see in the description it’s for option FEA, which is the suspension code for the z/28. I can confirm with 100% certainty that they come with the solid bushings because this is how I scored a set.

Right rear upper control arm = 23104902
Left rear upper control arm = 23104903

You’re talking delrin versus rubber. The delrin should perform better on a prepared track because it’s going to be a stiffer bushing. I’ve heard bad things start to happen to delrin when the bushings heat up but I’ve never run them so I can’t really speak from any real world experience. For a street driven car I Personally prefer to stick with rubber whenever possible.

I found a the Z28 Bushings just not sure if that is the route i should go, Being they are no longer being produced by themselves the price is going to be about the same as the BMR.

I put these rear uppers on when I added the solid bushings and ZL1 drive line.

I installed these in my 2011 SS and it really tightened up the rear end! I got the Pegasus brand before the closed up, got them from JDP Motorsports on their advice, as they have a few cars they track race. Well worth the time to install them and price to purchase. The only thing is being solid billet aluminum, you pick up more NVH from the road and suspension.
