Are GM Service Dept able to perform minor tunes IF they Will?
If you wanted to make minor adjustments in your ECM; e.g. Just turning off the AFM. Are GM Service departments ABLE to do this IF they will?
This is for some of us that may only want to disable minor details without changing other more sensitive settings. e.g. TCM that could affect stresses on drive train. I couldn't see how this one change could affect warranty, and especially if a GM shop would actually do it. I didn't know if they had this capability or if they can just flash to factory settings. |

I've yet to find a dealership that is capable of doing so but that doesn't mean you won't find one.
Now any changes to the tune regardless of how big or small that is not GM approved will void the powertrain warranty. This is not controlled by the dealer so if you find a dealer that is capable of doing this and tells you it will not void the powertrain warranty is lying to you. |

no
Only way to modify a programming calibration is to use aftermarket products. And if a dealer has read their mail from the EPA and GM, they won't be risking those fines and wrath from big brother. Not to mention liability and loss of idemnification should something go haywire. |

Would you rather have someone tune your car that changes oil for a living or someone who only works with performance products? The answer is obvious.

Several good brands out there to choose from. Look for one that has that AFM disable feature and the ability to return to the OEM cal if needed. |
