GPS on Windshield
Does anyone know if it is actually legal to mount a GPS/Navigation unit onto your windshield in Rhode Island? If so, then where and are there certain stipulations like it has to be on the drivers side near the top? I've done Google searches and came up with nothing. Went to RI-DMV, zilch. RI State Police, nadda. I'm just curious is all. I got a GPS for X-Mas and I want to be sure I can use it as it should. Thanks.

As long as it doesn't obstruct your visability, you will be fine.

I mount mine on the plastic radio face on the driver's side, plenty of room for the suction cup to stick there, easy to reach and see... also the windshield is hard enough to see out of without blocking it any more than you have to. Another plus is that it is not so obvious for the crooks cruising the parking lots looking to steal them...
I haven't had any problems with reception of the Satellites.

I mounted my Garmin above the driver side vent hardwired to the fuse box.
Works for me.

Cool pix. Now I know where to put it when I get a Camaro, lol. Currently, I drive a Charger. It's a lease so I didn't want to mount the disc to the dash if I'm just giving it back in January. Thanks, guys, tho.
