WTB - Low mileage Z/28 NO AC/Radio

Hello Z/28 forum!
I am looking to buy a low mileage (under 3k miles), documented Z/28 without AC/Radio option. Prefer: Silver/Gray/White; maybe Red, No Black please.

No stories, Clean Carfax, no drama please. I would prefer an unmodified car but can handle some reversible modifications.

Prefer to purchase from a private seller, but may handle no drama dealers.

I attempted to buy another Z/28 last year which turned into a disaster:
https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=599358

I ended up purchasing a completely different car, which turned out to not be a good HPDE car, but ended up getting attached and will keep it. This I am not looking to HPDE the Z/28, just want to buy a nice long term keeper.

I am in the western states. And I am NOT a dealer or flipper.

Please send me PM if interested.

This is going to be a difficult (if not impossible) vehicle to find. Only 116 of theses gems were produced without A/C. Toss aside the black ones and you're down to 66. AND you want low mileage. You'll probably need to pry one of these out of somebodies collection if you find one. When I was searching for my Z there were 2 on my list (Georgia and Kentucky) that didn't have A/C but I found my current Z in Alabama and immediately fell in love with it. No regrets but I if anyone asks me if there was one thing I could change about the car I wish it was a non-A/C car. FWIW they still have a radio but it only has one speaker. Good luck and if you find one please post many pics and for God's sake keep it all original!

And the "Radio" once turned up past 25 has so much distortion. Driving with the windows up or down I can hardly hear it anyhow.

I leave it off and tune in on station 427.

#918, 4K miles, new motor at 958 miles. All stock...and sorry not for sale.

Good luck. I hope you find one.

thank you for your posts... Yes, looking forward to finding and buying one. And will post pictures.

@4 FN 27, the reason for engine replacement was due to LS7/Valve guides?

Not sure what happened. GM would not let us tear into the motor.

Here is the story:

https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=419077

GM and my dealer did an over the top job on making sure I was happy.

I may not have a numbers matching Z but close enough.

Good luck
I’d dare to say there’s less than 66 out there that you are looking for. Be wary of the “low mileage” gems. But I’m sure you’ll find 1 that has “never been tracked” or “grandma only drove it to church once a year on Easter”.
When you do find it, welcome and please share.
Here’s mine, it’s not the Z28 you’re looking for.

Serious question, why do you want an non AC car?

Mine is non AC, non stereo and I really cant see the point, when a car weighs 3900 lbs already another 20lb weight saving isnt going to make much difference not to mention track driving and anything over about 70F

I like the Z/28 for the sum of its parts and no A/C = Rarity to me.

I missed them when new, I was not interested in Camaros. I think that the Z/28 would be a great car for an enthusiast.

Second part of your comment: I already own a dedicated serious track car/trailer/truck/etc. Been at it seriously when younger and now when older HPDE fast tracks since 1988. 34 years and still alive and going, not the fastest, but when I remove my helmet people see that I am old! I tried tracking a 2017 GT350R but too heavy for me, my max is a ~2,900-3,000lb car.

...and still looking...

GT350R with backseat delete and carbon fiber rims still heavy? Z makes a better track car compared to your 350R?

@highrevving, hello! I am not sure I understand your question, so let me try again.

I bought a new 2017 GT350R Lightning blue; Radio & AC delete, and I tracked it a few times and did not like it. OK car, but too heavy for my taste. And during my 1 year ownership I received the Do Not drive notification due to transmission oil cooler leak, the engine oil filters blowing out retorque/safety wire warning; and folks with engines blowing up. PS: I just looked at the window sticker and MSRP was $64,845 in 2017 which is almost $10K under what Chevrolet was trying to sell the Z/28.

--> This time I am hoping to find a nice low mileage, no AC Z/28 to own, drive, polish, and look at but not to track!

(I have a dedicated track car like I have had for the most of past 30 years).
