Idle adjustment

I have a modded 2010 SS with Stage 3 cam BTR and other accessories. Its an auto with paddle shifters. When started it runs about 1100 RPMs and when it warms up it drops to about 1000. Problem I have is when cold- its hard to keep back- pulls forward and I have to stand on the brake!!! Without going to a tuner, can I lower the idle so I dont run through the garage door!!! Had a similar modded Z06 but not the same problem. New to these newer Camaros- had 67 68 Big blocks and 69 Pro street years ago

You might need a looser converter. Mine idles @ 950 & barley creeps with the 3800.

It can really only be handled in the tune. The surging is the stall, but if you lower the idle to about 750, it probably wont do that. I have the BTR3 and it can idle down at 600 if you want it too.

^^ This here. I have a 4500 stall and it idles around 950 or so and is just fine. With these bigger cams you need at least a 3200 or bigger, a stock stall is just way to tight and will cause the surging, and having to stand on the breaks!! Not safe. Your tuner might be able to fix it a little in the tune. Good luck.

From what I have read before on here, those big cams need at least a 2800 or higher. I started out with a 3200, it wasn't enough for my power band, so I went 4500 and all is a ton better. But I never had any issues with the brakes. Maybe they didn't connect back the power brake booster correctly. Just a thought.
