Brake pulsation wows
Have new Hawk HPO 5.0 and new Brembo rotors.
I did bed the pads but get pulsation with pedal pressure. Then put new SKF front bearings but still have pulsation. Getting dial indicator now. If out of round what brand rotor is best quality? I thought Brembo is perfect out of the box. I could not break bolt loose for rear bearing. Can impact gun with extension and swelling fit? Thanks in advance. |

It's not the rotor, it's the pad. You either didn't bed them in properly or exceeded the pads working temp and melted them onto the rotor.
Rotors almost never "warp"

Rotors are generally made with a certain degree of lateral runout. There's even a spec for it. So all rotors are technically warped to a degree. Over/under-torquing lugnuts could also alter pressures which could "bend" the rotor into warping more, causing pedal pulsations as well.
With Brembo rotors, they're high quality parts and unless you were blasting them with a torch, I doubt you'd get them hot enough to warp them just by doing hard braking. Even with new rotors, it's not a bad idea to check the runout and if needed, give them a thin shave to true them up. 0.002" lateral runout max based on 2010 SS factory specs. It's also possible to have thickness variations. Pick around 6 or 8 points with digital calipers or micrometers and spot check thickness. Should not vary by more than 0.001", again based on the 2010 SS factory specs. Your specs may differ. If you don't bed the pads properly, you could have pad adhesion spots on the rotor and these will send a pulsing feedback through the system. If you have brand new rotors, and the lateral runout is within specs, try cleaning the rotors off with a 3M scrub pad or similar to get any residue off the rotors. Check the pads to make sure they're still ok, if not scrub them off too and retry the bedding procedure or replace them if they're messed up. I'm betting it'll be better next time around.

Pull the rotors back off, use one of these on the rotors(look up on youtube) then re bed the pads.
https://www.amazon.com/Performance-T...b85e69237a8fa8 This is the correct way to bed in pads. You will never ever get a rotor hot enough to change it's metallurgy for it to "warp." It's uneven pad transfer from improper bedding or you exceeded the pads temp ceiling and the pads melted on to the rotor.
