Additional Battery/Trans Grounds

Hello everyone,

We all know about the Hot starting issue in these cars. We know that the standard solution is adding a grounding strap from the engine to the body, and if that isn't enough we do an additional battery to body ground in the trunk area. Well, I couldn't justify spending $44 for each harness on another website. So I picked up 50 feet of 0/1 welding grade pure Copper flexible cable, 100 copper lugs and some shrink tubing... At approximately 20 inches each cable that means I can make roughly 30 sets of cable... lets call it 24 units since I am going to make 2 for myself. That means I can make 24 cables for any of you fine ladies and gentlemen if you would like one.

Heres the cost breakdown, no bullshit... just honest numbers, because that's how i believe in doing business.

$10 in materials per cable ($6.88 for the cable, $2.80 for the copper lugs, + a little $$$ for the shrink tubing)
$10 for small flat rate USPS box(This should fit 2 cables)
$10 for my time and labor in the garage, because as we all know time is money)

1 cable for $30 vs. $44 from the competitor
2 cables for $50 vs. $88 from the competitor

Let me know if you would be interested, as I plan on building these cables this week and would like to know if there is any interest before I make almost 30 of them. I don't want your money until the cables are done with pictures to prove it. paypal goods and services is fine by me as this is a legitimate proposal. Let me know down below if you would like to reserve your own and I will update this post with pictures once I have them produced!

-Thanks

All I did with mine is go to Autozone and purchase 2 cables, 4 gauge each, 1- 20 inch one for the trunk and 1- 24 inch one for the engine to chassis. 7 bucks each. Done deal.

Sounds like a great deal to me for quality all copper cable.

While I already did mine, front and back, I am sure you will find some on here that are looking to do the upgrade. I consider this a vital upgrade on our cars, and it makes a big difference.

Got a few of the trunk ground cables built

I got 5 of the trunk battery ground cables done last night. If anyone wants 1 they will be available to ship out on Monday of next week. I am working on an instructions write-up and tackling the starter to body ground next. This cable is 100% pure copper, copper 3/8 lug, and high quality shrink banding. It is 25 inches of cable, not the afore mentioned 20 inch cable. It tucks nicely underneath the factory battery foam surround. The lugs are oriented to loop the cable in a specific manner as shown. Each one is test fitted on my personal car to ensure a quality accurate fit. Thanks for anyone's interest.

Thank you sir, appreciate the kind words. I am hoping to bring some aftermarket support to the Gen 5 Platform as I build my own small business. I love the platform, so I hope to make more products in the future especially since alot of vendors have stopped making parts for us or charge an unnecessary premium for stuff due to the limited market.

My 20" 50mm2 (1/0) cable is locally bought and paid for 15$

Btw. Has anyone thought when current sensor it's only on one cable now.
Does it affect the charging in any way ?

Reading this thread and realized I never installed my trunk cable. Built the cable back in the winter months.
A little dielectric grease where I scraped off the paint and good to go.

Are these still available and do you have the locations for the engine grounds you suggest?
