Borla S-Type cat-back for 2015 Green Flash

I'm looking to add a cat-back to my 2015 Green Flash 2SS, but Borla's site says their S-type is not compatible with a GFX package.

I can't find a definitive answer on exactly what sort of additional GFX is added to the Green Flash edition: Is it the true "GFX" package that is added or just portions of it?

The only difference is the exhaust ports. Borla's regular tips don't fit through those square holes. They do, however, have a different model of the same thing that basically removes those tips, tells you to use stock tips and that's what's for the cars with GFX.

Per Borla's website "Add BORLA® X-Pipe with Mid-Pipes 60512 to create a Cat-Back™ system". With that said I definitely remember seeing catbacks for the GFX cars. I'd say Borla just stopped making them since the 5th gen is getting old. But I found some stock on phastek and summit racing. Phastek is a sponsor of the forum.
Borla S-Type

I'll also add my 2 cents since my car already had a S-type catback when I bought it. With factory cats and manifolds it was too quiet for me even though it had a good sound. I replaced the mufflers with Borla ATAK axle back kit and it's still tame with factory cats and manifolds. Can't wait until I put longtubes on the car.

Man when you do the LT's your gonna have a whole different sounding animal with the ATAK system!! Very aggressive sound, with or without HFC's..

MM_Spartan I just looked up what a Green Flash Edition is and the rear valance on those are totally different than the 2010-2013 gfx valance. Looks to me like you could use any catback that includes tips. Post up a pic and we could tell for sure.

Yeah the rear bumper cover is totally different than the 2010-2013, and so that made them change the style of the diffuser.

Where you at in MI Spartan?
and looking at the rear valance and suitcase mufflers, measure the diameter of the holes and see what size of tips will fit through them. You can buy different sizes of round tips, cut angled, flat cut etc that would fit as long as the diameter supports that size of tip.

Wish I saw this post earlier. Yeah, the 14-15 special editions use a completely different "Ground Effects" appearance package, compared to the factory GM one, that was used on the 10-12 V8 SS models. I think they did come on '13 models as well, but were more of special order or separate upgrades.

There's a 2014 Spring Edition, which is similar to the Green Flash edition, with the exclusive appearance package/body kit and the 21" inch wheels. Lots of the Green Flash models usually come with a dual exhaust (NPP, bi-modal/active), so those can fit any exhaust; whereas the Spring Edition (or a more "basic" Green Flash version) comes with the "modified" version of the same rear bumper valence, which was made for the single exit, non-NPP exhausts.

You can still fit a 4-4.5" inch exhaust tip through the 14-15 "Ground Effects" rear bumper just fine, I'm sure. After all, they're made to run with the factory single exit, non NPP catback exhaust system. The 10-13 factory GM GFX was specifically made to fit only the stock exhaust tips. Whoever designed that original body kit, definitely didn't think about aftermarket exhaust systems, because all the exhaust systems for them, ended up just making an option where the exhaust tips were removable, leaving just the plain tail pipes.
