The LT's Autos was a 6 speed 6l80e Right? I want to Drop a 6.0 l96 in mine

I believe it is a 6L50 in the V6's..6L80's were in the SS, and 6L90 in the ZL1's..

You’d be better off getting a salvaged automatic SS, or one that has simply had an L99 that’s been worked on. In the case that you maybe get a shell as a cheaper option, go for the automatic SS shell.
You can probably just swap in a stock Camaro SS 6L80E, and then swap in whatever Gen V LS V8 engine you want. Honestly, even an LS2 doesn’t seem all that bad, although there’s better 6.0L LS engines for the money and features, like a stock L77 engine setup. |
