Follow Pfadt product development on Twitter!
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that Pfadt Race Engineering has a twitter page for people to check out.
Here is the link: http://twitter.com/PfadtRacing You can get up to date info on events and products like our new Pfadt ultralight shifter that is in development stages! Check it out: http://www.zannel.com/viewupdate.htm?id=PPGLSC ![]() This new shifter weighs about the same as the stock shifter knob! We are planning on offering it in either a nickel finish, or a black hard anodized finish. Currently we are determining the optimum throw, so we are messing around with a bunch of reduction values. Retail should be in the $250 range. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks |

That's looking nice. It's great that it's light, but isn't it helpful to have a little weight(particularly at the end of the lever) to reduce effort? I swapped out my stock knob on my M3 for a lightweight (keeping the other components intact) and it simply seemed harder to shift. Take a look at this shifter: http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_pr...uucshifter.htm I have installed it in all my past BMW's and in several friends...the quality is second to none and the throws are perfect. The few things to notice is the cartridge bearings and the pivot height adapter. So many shifters just lower the height and make it harder to shift...this shifter adjusted the angles to ensure that while the throws were shorter and more precise, it didn't have too much adverse effect on the level of effort.(Engineering hard at work!) Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Hey everyone,
We are testing different throws right now for optimum feel. The shifters will use our knobs for now. We may have a removable knob option. Essentially we are working on a couple different versions of this, some that have more features, and some with less. We have not made a decision as to the final direction(s). Material considerations are also being taken into account for bushings etc. We will be sure to keep everyone updated. Here is a link to our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pfadt-...g/124473446796 Thanks for the questions! |
