New to cams, questions related to L99

I'm new to cams, but looking to upgrade my L99. You can see my current upgrades in my signature.

For an L99 specifically, considering the AFM is tuned out, are there any other factors that come into play different from the LS3? For example, LMR tells me to go to stage 2 cams you need to also change the torque converter.

Their stage 1 yields 30-50 rwhp (seems like a wide range to me, going to ask for a dyno of a similar setup to mine), and stage 2 yields 50-70. Anyone with a similar setup to me that has a dyno? Impressions?

I'm thinking stage 1 IS the way to go for me. Just want to be sure. I definitely don't want my Camaro running excessively rough and I don't want to sacrifice low end. I want gains all the way through the RPM range.

Just looking for validation before I drop some more coin. Will probably get this done this week while I'm out of the country on a business trip.

Thanks all,

Scott

There's a limit to lift & duration the L99 lifters can take without failing. You have to spend a lot of time testing & developing camshafts for the L99 before just cutting something. Another option is heads & cam. With heads & cam you can swap to a LS3 lifters & run a better configured camshaft for the 6.2l engines. PRC CNC Porting & a TSP camshaft package will run you about $1500 or so & allow you to bolt on 100hp instead of fighting with L99 camshafts that MIGHT add 30-40rwhp.....

I have $4000 in my entire mod list & my car makes 500rwhp with TSP camshaft & PRC heads.

Man, I wish I still lived in Texas.

How well will the A6 tranny hold up to 420 - 440 rwhp?
