Cam installed

Finished my LS3 cam install today .
Fired right up , no CEL , good rock at 600 rpm idle . Car is bone stock except for opened up oem air box . I do feel the valvetrain is slightly louder .
It feels like it pulls better and runs more quickly to the redline . I ran up a steep hill , 4th gear 1000 -1100 rpm with no bucking . Car is very driveable .
The Thunder Racing cam is ( no secrets here ) 224/242 610/613 115+3 and is a collaborative effort between , Thunder , C5 member Pat ADM " FreemaSSon " and myself .
The guys at Thunder were good to deal with and when a slight dilemma arose they attempted to assist immediately , however being as resourceful as we are and with Thunder's input all proceeded smoothly .
Next weekend I'm visiting the same dyno I baselined at last month to tune it .
Next are headers/cats , then gears and then ??

It's a Comp Cam custom grind .
What's the significance of an xfi lobe ?

How do you know this and what is an xfi lobe .
I'm noticing increased rocker arm noise , slight clicking not like a solid roller but definitely noticeable .
I did replace springs , retainers and pushrods .

Those stock rocker arms will come apart. There is no snapring on the end of the shaft as in aftermarket ones. I had them come apart on a run at the dragstrip and ended my day. No engine damage but those little rollers go everywhere in the engine. Redid with comp cams truniun upgrade kit and all is ok for now. Have the mast black label roller rockers on order.

BTW; the offset intake rockers were the ones that failed

I think mine are ok , it's not skipping or doing anything strange . The sound is minimal , I'm just wondering why a hydraulic valvetrain would sound like this .
I've had Cranes & Crowers come apart In offshore race engines .
They can only take so many cycles of abuse . That's why the well financed teams replace that stuff every race and we glue magnets everywhere .
I'll post some video later but I need to figure out how to do it .

XFI is the LOBE design and refers to the RAMP RATE on the lobes.

I have ran XFI, K and L lobes and the stock rockers are no more prone to failure with anyone or the other.

The stock rockers are CLEARLY not designed for these agressive ramp rates but failures are more uncommon than is being conveyed here. Harland Sharp and Comp both offer a VERY reasonable solution with SEALED needle bearing stockers that ELEMINATE this potential hazard.

Fanfreakingtastic to hear it's all together brother......

I know because I looked in my comp master reference guide, xfi lobe is just one of many custom lobe families that comp has. The duration is the same but thunder racing added .001" lift to there advertised lift numbers which alot of companies do to try and throw people off looking in a reference guide. But you can take that cam and have it cam doctored and it will be within the tolerence of 3015 intake lobe and a 3038 exhaust lobe. That is all it is, I would say 98% of all "custom cams" that people sell for the LS engines is going to be from comp cams. The most common used lobes are going to be the xtreme RPM, XFI, XE-R, and LSK/LSL.

Are any of Comps lobe styles considered quieter?

On the rocker thing, cheap insurance is to use a magnetic drain plug. You'll know pretty easy if any needle bearings have come out.
