Question I didn't pay for cutouts; I think??

Ok, after the dyno on Saturday at BBK Performance in Temecula, CA, my exhaust started sounding a little more aggressive. Ok, sounds good, I guess.

Well, it started sounded weird, like it was coming from 1 side. I just adjusted the exhaust tips because they were touching the bezels. So, I figured I screwed something up. No problem, put the car up on the ramps and readjust. Well, i washed & waxed her on Sunday, then parked her until today. When I started her up, it sounded LOUD as well as rattled. Got me nervous, so, put her on the ramps, and looked underneath...this is what I saw:

I didn't even pay for cutouts!

Even with her on the ramps, I couldn't get underneath enough to see if the clamp just slid back or what - they weren't loose though. It sounds bad since the exhaust is hitting on both sides - before the cats and after. So, appointment made at Renegade Performance this Friday afternoon to see what the heck happened!

No no, Renegade Performance did not put in my exhaust! It was put in by Zoomers 4 days after I bought the car! They are going to look at it to see what it will take to fix it. I don't feel like driving 1 1/2 hours to Irvine to get it fixed.

That is why we tack weld all the joints in the systems we install.

You might want to ask them to do that for you.

I suspect they didn't happen at the same time. He said it sounded like exhaust came from one side at first. Bet the other side was still connected, therefore, not as loud. Other side prolly came loose by the time he put her up on ramps. Just a theory...

I think the dyno on Saturday pushed it the rest of the way. You're probably right that the clamps just slipped back. It's just not easy to put her up on jacks since I have to either do that in the street - which is NOT safe, or spend 45 minutes clearing a spot in the garage and work in very tight corners. I'm sure Renegade Performance will take care of it in a snap tomorrow...Sounds mean - if she didn't have all those vibrations!

Do you see that little clip on the on side? That is suppose to be locked to a stud on the exhaust. From the looks of it one side doesn't have it (aftermarket exhaust) and the other side looks like it has been pulled. I bet they might of snagged the exhaust over the dyno and pulled it loose. The other side would come off too as it was the only thing supporting your exhaust. Just my .02 cents

Yup, good point! Renegade Performance said that Zoomers should have put a new clamp there and NOT reuse the stock one. They have band clamps if it goes that route and they can also tach weld it.

Thanks!

Ok, all done & back to normal They reattached the clamp & spot welded it on 2 sides to the CAT back exhaust. They ain't movin now! And you can still take the clamp off the CAT side, so all is good!

They had me in and out in under 30 minutes! They have a beautiful Shelby GT500 with an awesome racing suspension on it! Wow!
