Looking for some 5th Gen help!

Hi Guys and Gals,

I have been lurking here for a few months.

I have personally owned 3 different Camaros and Firebirds over the years and love the new one.

I am on the executive of the TFBM which is a Camaro and Firebird motorsport club in Ontario. I have been the Autocorss Director and currentley the Drag Racing director.

The club has always had a fun, competitive relationship with the GTAMC Mustang club. We have been challenged again this year to meet them for a race day at TMP and an autocorss. They have been bringing new model hardware to try and beat on our 2002 and older street brawlers. I would love to see some of the 5th Gens come out and help keep them in their place, 2nd!

Is there any interest in here in seeing what your cars can do?

The clubs forum is at http://forums.tfbm.org/index.php?t=index&.

We have 2 autocrosses, 3 drag days and 3 social events a year plus lots of impromptu get togethers at cruise nights.

I hope we can see some V6 and SS's come out and play with the ponies.

BTW my toy for now can be seen in my sig.

What do you think?

Dale P.

I'd be in for racing some mustangs, I'll stay away from that burnout competition though. I have a red '87 camaro similar to that guys car, and felt sick to my stomach watching that video.
When and where are the drag racing and autocross done?

Cool, we have one in!

You will see in our meet and greet section where they asked one of the members to get us lined up.

http://forums.tfbm.org/index.php?t=msg&th=6784&start=0&

I will stay away from those burnout contests in the future too. That totaled my Nitto's, they were only a month old. We only did it as a joke, the owner of the Mienke dealer brought out his Benz first. I had gotten 2nd place in the car show so I was going home with something. It was a diecast 2010 Camaro

They have been held at the Powerade Center in Brampton for that last 3-4 years, and will be again this year. It is right at the corner of the 407 and the 410. In the north lot. It is nice since there are washrooms and vending machines.

I would like to suggest a Togue to the Mustang guys as well, but it would need to be at the TMP road course. A Togue is a cat and mouse race. You spread the cars out by about 300 ft and do one lap. If the guy in front pulls away, he wins, if the guy in back closes the gap he wins. There is no passing. Kind of like a drag race with turns. This is just a wish list though, it has never been talked about yet. Just me thinking out loud.

I plan on doing one with a different club this year.

In an autocross strange things can happen. The new Cobalt SS turbo is truly amazing. We had one beat a Z06 C6 with a good driver. The Z06 did beat him by a couple tenths but hit a cone. Both cars were stock on street tires.

I beat an STI in the rain and I was on slicks with 500rwhp, go figure. I almost beat a modified C5 with my Magnum RT, which is stock.

It takes the driver and the car, but you really learn about your car and your driving skills without endangering yourself at street type speeds. No more than 65mph.

What car is that in the picture? A Mazda 3?

Hi guys,

We at TFBM also have a sponsorship with Mobil 1 who supply us with oil for prizes at our events. We also have a arrangement with a dealer in Mississauga who gives TFBM Members deals on all parts including GM Performance Parts at a really good discount. With your first part purchase usually your membership has paid for itself. The cost for membership is $30 and you get a reduced price at events and also your qualify for prizes. If your interested in joining just go to our website which is www.TFBM.ORG and go to Membership. If you attended Performance World last March our club had a 2010 Burnt Orange Camaro SS RS with White Strips on display in our booth curtesy of GM Canada and a friend of the clubs that works in GM Promotions. The car was a preproduction model and was the VIN was 299. Hope to see alot of you guys out to our events as your all welcome.
