L99 W/ Vortech & 3.33" Pulley

Here is the graph for the last L99 we did with a Vortech Supercharger, 3.33" SC Pulley, ARH Headers w/ Cats, Magnaflow exhaust. 9.5lbs of boost.

Now for the math.

The DA for today is 8681 feet. The dyno correction for these runs were 27%

Using the general rule of of 2.9% for every 1000 feet. This puts the correction at 8681 / 1000 = 8.681 x 2.9 = 25.16

So this puts it at 25%. This leaves me within 2% which is well within the Dynojet Specs.

I have also checked the DA since the last car we posted. It has never been lower than 7500 feet. Checking with Superflow who is local and several other shops. This is the norm. It fluctuates from 6800 feet to over 10000 feet depending on the day.

Hope this helps with the confusion.

It's not a good idea to use density altitude to correct observed HP numbers. The SAE HP correction equation treats temperature differently than the DA equation.
- SAE is the square root of the temperature ratio.
- DA is just the ratio.

The reference points are also different.
- 59F, 0% RH, and 29.92 baro pressure for the DA.
- 77F, 0% RH, and 29.235 baro pressure for the SAE.

In addition, the SAE correction equation has an imperical slope adjustment for extremely good or bad conditions like you have (was 1.18 but more recently changed to 1.177).

Bottom line, use and believe the SAE correction method.

RMCR does use the SAE correction that is built into their Dynojet. Mike was just trying to make a point to other members that are always screaming BS to the fact that the SAE correction numbers on the dyno in Colorado Springs are always corrected to 1.25-1.29. Some people who only deal with sea level numbers just can't seem to understand just how much the altitude effects the correction numbers.

By the way, great job Mike and Mark.

I was only showing how DynoJet told me to verify if the machine was reading correctly. I have never questioned our SAE #'s.

This car will be at the 1st test & tune at Bandimeer. Will post some times when we get it.

Thanks, I agree this is by far one of Vortechs best supercharger kits they have ever made.

The power that there new Si Trim is capable of is very impressive.
