AAC P13W DRL LED - anyone else seeing this behavior?

so I am sitting in my car tonight tuning my stereo and I notice what appears to be my headlights flashing randomly.

I get out, take a look and my headlights are fine, but my P13W LED's (with the 10.00 jumper wire to make them stay on all the time) have only 2 rows of LED's lit... then the top 3 LED's flashed on for a few seconds and went off. I looked at the other one, same deal, only a row or two of LED's lit, then once in a while an additional row would flash on then off.

anyone have any thoughts on what might be going on? Anyone else experienced that behavior?

I am perplexed to say the least.

the best thing you could do is contact AAC, and do the upgrade to the new p13w plasma LEDs.

Sounds like the PWM is killing the LEDs.....

I traded my old P13Ws for the new plasma bulbs. The old ones have a problem.

I have the same thing happening to mine, I just haven't done the Plasma swap yet. Its a bit annoying and honestly when my fog lights are on by themselves they don't effect my output, its like i'm not seeing any light source what so ever.

I had the same problem, I swapped them out for Plasmas, the first gen LEDs suck.

I had this problem on top of other issues... Shipping, wrong product. I upgraded to the plasmas and the problems didn't stop. Some people have had luck with aacs products, I am not one of them.

Ive been thru 4 sets of these Leds and 1 set of Plasmas already. Waiting for my backup set to arrive so I can have a spare if my Plasma goes out again. Never had a problem with customer service but cant say that about the lights.:(

I got in touch with AAC this afternoon and they told me that I can upgrade to the plasma LED's but I need my receipt... from almost a year ago. GRRRrrrr

I paid via my debit card so while I dont have the receipt, I DO have a bank statement that says I bought them from them.

search your email for order confirmation..... also... THEY can track your order by name and address...... but, maybe they don't want to honor the warranty.... I guess I'm just cynical..... and could be wrong... I suppose it's possible they had a massive data crash on their hard drive recently?????

In my opinion these should be sold buy 1 pair, get one free. That way you can still have some in while the others are being swapped out on warranty.

Here is a video showing the PWM:

There are a couple of ways to avoid this signal reaching your bulb.

1) We will include a DRL harness at no charge when you exchange those bulbs. This option is not 100% plug-and-play but gets the job done.
2) Upgrade to the Plasma bulbs, these have an internal capacitor that rectifies the PWM issue from the RS DRL.
3) Use the fieldgoal harness. This is a plug-and-play option and now has a relay to prevent the PWM from getting to the LED.
4) Do nothing and change the bulb out every couple of months. We stand by our warranty regardless of the PWM and will exchange bulbs as long as you need

Correct, we ask that you include your receipt in the box so that we know who you are when your item arrives which allows us to process your order faster and get you your parts in an expedited manner. If you no longer have a copy of your receipt, no worries, please fill out this form completely so that we can still get you a replacement in the fastest possible manner. http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...EQUESTFORM.pdf
I think mine may be a different reason since the LEDs are falling off the bulb and I have the fieldgoal harness.... upgrading to plasmas and crossing my fingers.

That's like buying lifetime warranty brake pads from Autozone........they are a good price but you'll be changing them for a lifetime because they are CHEAP. BTW, I purchased some lights a CF2 and I never received my receipt.
