Link bar issue when trying to remove factory springs**Updated With Pics

Got the coilovers finished up last night..It makes a world of difference with the sway bar link when you take all the pressure off of it Hope the pictures are ok, took with a BB Storm. Enjoy and thanks guys.

You know I didn't even think about posting a picture...Unfortunately I've put the car back to stock on the front for now...I'm hoping between me and my brother we'll be able to handle the issue but if not I'll post up a picture. For clarification though, it's the link bar bolt that attaches to the strut assembly.

Are you describing the sway bar link itself, which is the part that connects the sway bar to the strut?

The biggest challenge to the links is the center ball stud spinning. But you can secure the ballstud easily and just turn the nut.

The ballstuds are not parallel and sit at an angle to each other. This is normal. But the link itself should be perfectly straight. Give us a picture.

By the way, sounds like you got an awesome wife!!. Congrats.

Yep the link is straight, the angled ballstud is what's perplexing to me but we'll get it figured out. I noticed the ball stud spin, what is the best way to handle that without taking a chance on shreading the threads? We're not working on it today or I'd upload a picture. I think we're working on it tomororw after work and if we can't get it worked out I'll post a pic..I'll either post a pic with the successful lowered Camaro or I'll post the pic of the problem that I ran into the other day.

And yes I do have an awesome wife, she even came out to the garage to give me a hand when I needed some assistance getting the rear coilovers installed

Use a 7mm socket on the end of the swaybar endlink's ball stud and a 13mm box wrench on the nut to disconnect the endlink from the front strut. The swaybar endlink's ball stud may look angled because the swaybar is at full droop (assuming you've both side on jackstands; if only one side is on a jackstand, then the swaybar is under torsional load). Try putting the jack under the lower front lower suspension arm and raise the front strut up until the ball stud looks perpendicular to the front strut's endlink bracket. It's a good idea to support the front spindle/brake assembly anyways as it tends to flop around when the front strut is removed. HTH.

Hot wife.

Glad you got it all figured out. How are you liking the V1's? I love mine.

Thanks for the wife compliments So far I love the V1's..Can hardly tell any difference in factory vs. coilover driving feel. I need to get an alignment and probably a low-profile jack since it's sitting so low now but I have no complaints with the V1's. Awesome product at a great price (plug for IPS Brandon)
