Why is nobody interested in gearing?

This is THE mod to do for the na v6 camaros! car comes with a 3.27 final drive and pactically 4.5 first gear...so its agressive in the first gear but aint worth a dam in 2 3 4 ...some 4.10 would probably get close to a stock ls3 with somebody that knows how to drive behind the wheel! You have 275 back tires for a little v6 make use of it! And with 18.45 averall first gear you sure will!!!!!!

It'll never happen is why. Best we could do is put the 3.56 rearend from an SS in.... then change the gear.

why don't you think it will happen? I would definately get a set of 4.10's if they were produced.

Because nobody is producing them. Best we could do right now are 3.55s, or go with smaller diameter tires.

Richmond Gears makes those. But really what does a 3.55 give us. Not much of a change. I talked to Vince @ Trifecta and he said that 4.10s would be killer since we have that 6 gears to work through and shouldn't affect the gas mileage much at all. The problem is no one is making em yet for us.....yet again!

Drive shaft would be the issue. Looks like you'd have to cut and weld the front end off your shaft onto the SS shaft and have it balanced. There are people that can do that but... I don't think it would be worth the $$$! Better to just build power then find the weak link and beef that up.

I passed on a whole SS rear end a couple of months ago... went for $550 on fleabay... + 400 shipping!

Well, you might be able to have a custom driveshaft made. I found a website for a shop a while back that does that but I can't remember the site. I'll do some digging for it and see if I can turn it up.

that shipping is nuts!! i wonder if the M6 internals would fit in the auto rear? im more interested in an lsd over a ratio change although it would be nice.

Can't you swap the rear end from an aftermarket Camaro kit, like Lingenfelter's rear end and gears?

Nope. You'd still run across the problem that the SS driveshaft ends are different than the ones from the V6.

Its really shi__y isnt it? BMW's e46 m3 almost have the same gears; comes wit a 3.62 rear end....and people put 4.10 and they swear by that...and they are even more agressive then us...their tire diameter is 3 inch smaller which account by itself for 0.4 so they come with a 3.62 and us 3.27 -0.4 = 2.87 put a 4.10 final drive on our cars and it will still be a 3.70 when compared with a m3...i bet we would make use of the traction thats available but that we cant use.....and with the tall sixth the mileage will be insignificant....

We need to make that happen...
Going from 3.27 to 4.10 will feel like a turbo kit by itself...its nothing that can be compared to intake catback pulleys....theyre details...this changes the car
