Son of a....

So I was up in NY this weekend. I was crossing the tappan zee bridge coming home and some **** head I an FX35 has his exhaust hanging down and kept hitting the road, sooooo I was like "I gotta get around this dude before that come off". Well wouldn't ya know it, as I was passing it a piece of it came flying off and hit my car.

So...my question is, how can I repair this for right now? I don't have the extra chash for a body shop right now. The scratches are pretty deep.

I'm assuming you can pick at them with your fingernail? That looks like it's through the clear and the paint. That would require a repaint. I mean you could put dr colorchip in it and make it look 50% better for now, but it would still look bad.

There's nothing you can do for cheap on that. IMO a filler like mentioned above will look worse on an area this big. That's not what it's made for.

I've honestly never tried it. You don't think filling it with something like GM paint matched paint and wet sanding then polishing could not atleast make it look better? If he is going to eventually get it repainted anyway it would be ok to wetsand.

What do you think?

Call your local dealer and ask them who they use for their pre-owned car touch up work. Most of them can be hired for a reasonable fee. Although it won't be perfect it will be better than anything you can buy as a DIY kit.
