Anyone know what this is / does ?
Hi all,
First post but have been reading for a while. Since here in Australia we share some of your auto parts in our cars, I'm learning from both sides of the world. Anyway, as per the title, spotted this on a V6 Camaro and was hoping someone might have some info on what it is / does ? I have some ideas but I'd like to know. Thanks. |

It acts like an oil filter/catcher for the PCV system on the clean side.

Like rcatman said, its the clean side PCV canister. I did this to help keep my CAI and Intake manifold clean.

Probably also has some type of carbon filter to prevent evil emissions from seeping back out the air filter when the engine is shut down.

Sweet. Thanks for the responses. I figured as much. Was thinking about fitting one but now think I'll look into the oil filler cap breather set-up since it should work better than this this OEM part.
