I did mine at 1500 miles. Alot of others did the same, since most of engine break-in happens early on.

The service manager at the Chevy dealer where I purchased mine said 3000 miles, and use Mobil 1 syn oil. He has an IOM SS himself.
Sounds correct, its what I am going to do.

I will not hurt to change it earlier than normal the first time. Some might say you are wasting your $$ but its your car. Did mine at 900 miles. Going to be 3-4k after that.

How you drove it for the first 1000 miles is the major determining factor. If you drove it fairly hard you definately need to change it by now. If you drove it like the manual then 3000 miles will be fine. However it never hurts to change it early as you can have some shavings in the oil

The 2LT does NOT require Mobile 1.

Yep, I would recommend spending a bit more money to get the oil change done early on. I'm getting my car changed at around 750... and maybe once more at 1500. Then i'll do it normal from then on.

I planned to change mine at 1500 miles but was on a trip when the OD hit that, so had it changed as soon as I got home, at 1800. I have a 1LT and switched to Mobil 1. Changing oil more frequently will never hurt the engine, only your wallet. I consider it to be cheap insurance.
