GM--Relocate the light knob, or not.

I can't ever see that thing! I have had to get up on the steering wheel and look behind it to access the light knob or have to look to the left and access it. That's not safe for driving. It's in a terrible spot right behind the large spoke steering wheel. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet (or at least I didn't find it). Looks like the 2011's will have it in the same spot.

It's large, it's round, you don't have to touch it. What exactly is the problem

They turn on automagically, I say just take the entire switch out...

It is the first thing I noticed though when I got mine home.

RS package, one click to the right turns on halos, two clicks to the right turns on headlights, One click left turns off automatic lights.

Not that hard and confusing that you have to look where you are turning the knob. It's really not a problem.

yes, yes, I know how many clicks and what is what, but you really can't see the knob at all when in the driver's seat. Why would you design something that can't be easily seen.

This isn't the case, but so should everyone memorize stereo and A/C functions if they are not clearly visible also?

why do you need to see it?

How often do you mess around with the lights?
Mine are always on auto, unless I feel like driving with my halos. There's really no reason to look at it.

I suppose i don't need to see it. Heck, i don't need to see half of the things on the dashboard technically. It just goes against ergonomics. Why make something that is a tangible control with print on it for visuals that you can't see. Yes, I have mine on auto unless I turn my halos on near dusk. It's not a problem, just an unusual placement. End of rant.

So would you prefer them to have everything as a small 1 inch button on the center of your steering wheel just waiting to be pushed? That way you never miss anything...I mean...the exhaustion from leaning 2 inches left kills me...I hate it... I have to go to bed an hour early since getting this poorly designed monster.../sarcasm off

I think it is more of getting a feel for the car, then it is a non-issue.

If you really want a fix lets make the controls on the turn signal not blocked by the steering wheel. Now that's a pain.

How long have you had the car?

I think I agree that it takes some getting to know the car.

If it is any consolation, the dimmer switch and the fog light switch on my 2000 toyota camry is blocked by its steering wheel.
