Another Damaged Car - Snowbanks and bumpers dont mix

I was coming home from the grocery store this afternoon. Pulling into my driveway I hit part of the snowbank at the bottom of my drive. My bumper has a crack in it thats about 12 inches long at bottom by front wheel. It cracked really clean.

1) I am pissed at myslef but cannot undo whats been done. The bumper will need to be replaced. Question for you guys ...Is the front bumper one piece.

2) Wil the V-8 bumper fit on the V-6. I am thinking I may just order a V-8 bumper with the mail slot

Ouuuuuuuuuch that sucks, those snow banks are so frozen, they're lick rocks, but you found that out :(.

I believe yours is a daily driver, do you really want to venture into a SS front end? You'll have more issues in the winter with the lower bumper/spoiler combo.

Gord,
From the underside of my front facia to the ground is about 6" (inches) compare it to your LT. (the grille opening is about 4" for what it's worth).

It's barely any lower, it just looks different, and yeah it will fit on a V6 just fine,

And yeah that whole front end is one piece.

wierd... bec my right mirror was the same price as the US price... and my dealer said dont buy it right out from the parts manager... she said just talk to her and she will get me a better deal come next spring... so i suggest talking to the person you bought the car from directly just to see the price if they can help you with anything

Do you want to fix it now or will you wait for the snow to melt?

Damn, Sorry to hear about your mishap.

Bumpers are easiest to fix, you'll be back to normal in no time, I would wait for spring!

Sorry to hear about your bumper. I had a similiar expereince while backing in a few days ago. I was surprised at how hard it hit the rear bumper but luckily no damage (I was afraid to get out to check it :o).
Is it worth while to repair the bumper (depending on how it's damaged)? If it's basically "torn" but otherwise intact perhaps a product like "Plastex" will be enough to patch the damage. That way you could save your new bumper for spring.

Kevin
