Any modded 5th gen SS's here that outrun a stock C6Z?
We'll we've finally recieved the wife's 2SS and made all the appearance mods (looks so sweet: summit white with black stripes, lowered w/ racing springs, blacked out bowties, and powder coated gloss black RS wheels - I REALLY need to post some pics). I'm still waiting to put her through some high performance driving schools before I give her more torque
. I'm curious though, what would it take to accelerate like a stock C6Z vette? Matching power to weight, she'd need 617 BHP, but that's not the whole story given traction and gearing variables. So, have any of you with "nasty SS's" out run a C6Z? What does it take (assuming good drivers)? I came across an SS the other night on an abandoned air strip of course that sounded like a real monster. I think he said it was all bolt-on's and tune, so I would estimate he was somewhere in the 550 BHP range. It was still no where near enough to keep up. Would 70 BHP do it? The 550 BHP number is also very interesting given that seems to be the target Z28 number.

I've seen stock Z06's run in the low 11's and in the 10's with drag radials. The camaro is going to have to put out some monster HP to get into the 10's. 650RWHP sounds close.

Did you mean BHP? 650 rear translates to 750 brake; that would be more than enough to take out a stock C6Z. I would guess 650RWHP would put an SS in to the mid to low 10's.

Gotcha, which also reminds me I should have just looked up the fast list myself!
![]() I'd like to stay NA so we don't have to worry about heaksoak on the roadcourse, but I'm not sure you can cam an LS3 to 700BHP. Quote:

Being in the high 11's is still very respectable and could be done NA with an LS3 i'm sure. At least that is what I'm shooting for.
You could shave a couple hundred pounds off by changing hood, doors, trunk lid ect to carbon fiber. that would set you back a pretty penny however. worth a tenth or two? |

BTW, my CTS-V buddy is about to pulley, tune, and bolt-on to 700 BHP. Hard to believe it's a Cadillac (but we all know it's a ).
