I use a chamois called "Absorber" can get at Autozone or whatever parts store you have there. Works great!

I use two different things. Go to Wallmart and buy a couple of things called "The Aborber", do not get anything else. These are the only chamoises that really work. You dampen it and wring it out and drag it flat accross the car. The second thing that I use is 100% cotton Terry bath towels. I wash them after each couple of uses. Do not rub them on the paint, drag them accross the surfaces so that you do not scratch the paint with anything that you might pick up with these things. The reaper said the same thing while I was typing this.

walmart or any auto store should have all sorts of stuff to dry off cars with.

i would use a few soft big towels made for cars on mine.

I agree. I start with a synthetic chamois. I have found "The Absorber" to be one of the less expensive and higher quality synthetics. You can find them at most auto part stores or retailer that has an automotive dept. I pull it across the surface ONCE to get the big water beads off. Then I lightly go over it again with microfiber. Make sure the tags are removed from the microfiber towel.

Go to Sam's Club at Park & Belcher and you can get a 25 Pk. of micro fiber towels for $10 ... I've been using them for years, just throw in the wash when your done and you'll be good to go again ... Walmart may have the same ones ...

Best thing are microfiber towels. The ones that have a nap to them like a regular towel. I have a car wash and thats the only ones we use. 100% lint free and extremely absorbant. Buy at least 3, the bigger the better. (ours are 16 x 26) Use 1 towel and do 1/2 the hood, windshield, roof, back window and trunk wiping from front to back and not circular. Wring it out like a chamois when it gets to wet. Don't worry about getting it perfectly dry with this towel. Than go over the same area with another dry microfiber towel to get the rest of the water towel #1 left behind. Than do the other 1/2 of the car. When towel #2 gets to wet use the 3rd towel. Finish up with the sides, front and back.
Do not wash microfiber towels with other towels because the lint from the other towels will stay on the microfibers. Don't use soap that has fragrances in them. Over time, the oils in the scents will stay in the towels and you'll get streaks. I use plain cold water only. Lastly and probably most important, don't dry them in a dryer using high heat because the fibers will curl up and they won't absorb anymore. They will be shop towels at this point. I air dry mine. I've been doing this since I got the car last September and there are few if any scratches or marks. Paint chips are a different story though. Hope this helps.

IMO don't spend a lot of money on all these fancy waxes and polishes and junk... You are paying mostly for a name ... After I dry mine, I just hit it with Turtle Wax ICE detail spray ... The shine will last for days, and it will remove any water spots. ... You will be much happier if you keep it simple, and spend your extra time driving rather than detailing ...

I agree. I'm just recommending the best way to dry the car.

I've got an 'absorber' and it seems to work far better than any other towel or chamois I've used. As with anything you need to be careful about not putting enough pressure to scratch it.
