New installed Ridergraphix hood spear stripes!

I decided to just go ahead and give it a try myself before paying someone to put them on, and they came out pretty darn well! I ordered the dark charcoal metallic hood spear stripes from Ridergraphix for about $90 with the custom cut-out lettering '6.2L LS3' and I must say, it totally changes the look of the hood. I took some pics of the process below before, during, and after. It was a fairly simple install for someone with limited experience with decals. Just a mild Dawn water solution with a company-supplied squeegee. Getting it symmetrical is the hardest part. I removed my mirror stainless LS3 emblems from the hood first and prepped the heck out of the surface with rubbing alcohol. I'm ever so slightly higher up on the hood buldge on the driver's side than the passenger side but is really difficult to notice. There were only a couple of bubbles, and got rid of those with the tiniest of pin pricks to get the water out.

It really defines the hood buldge and looks more sinister from the front. I didn't want to do the whole racing stripe package, so this is just right for me. hope you guys like it!

Looks good! i think they could have went a little further to the tip of the hood though I had their hood and side spears on my car. Did not like the way they didn't fill in the side spears - those be gone. Got the hood painted with strips to match the real IOM Much better!

Yep, slightly further on the passenger side. The thing is though, if I put them higher, then the cut out at the upper end of the stripe is then misaligned, so had to stay a little lower. I tried that at first, but then it appeared to high down toward the nose, so kinda took the middle. Yeah, they should have extended them a little longer.

thanks, wasn't too difficult, i've only put some tail light, reverse, and corner tint on, nothing this big. If you don't want to risk it, take it to a professional. I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out though.

one thing---keep both the decal and the surface wet until you think you have it right!

Looks great from a distance, just never been a huge fan of how decals look up close.
