May be forced to use 87/89

I'm headed on a roadtrip next week which will take me up the California coast.
As many of you may know, it is pretty sparsely populated, and there is one stretch where you end up rolling into a little town called Westport. There really is nothing on either side of Westport for quite a stretch.
Unfortunately, this little mom-and-pop shop in Westport doesn't always have premium gasoline. In the past, when this has happened, I have put in enough to get to the next decent gas station, and fill the tank with 91.
I have read many horror stories of running 87 gas in the Camaro, so I want to get some opinions of some of you who have been in the same position.
Did you pack a bottle of octane booster? Was the performance not as bad as expected? Do you call Onstar, and have them bring you enough 91 to get to the next town? :P

octane booster wont do enough for you. your best bet is to do what you have done in the past and put enough in to get you to the next gas station.

tho, as GTAHVIT has already attested, Onstar will provide fuel service for you in the event that you run out. they might not bring 91 octane fuel tho.
