whats every1 looking for a little help. i was wondering how to remove the stock shifter knob on the m6? thinking about ordering an aftermarket one. thanks to all in advance

Pull up hard on it, But it comes off fast after it lets go so don't hit yourself in the face.

Pushin a rock...
|
It is just a tight rubber sleeve that is basically press fit on the steel shifter column. Just gently rock and twist it back and forth while you tug up on it and it will come off. If you yank on it straight up you are liable to wack yourself or worse. Just remember to remove the 4 screws that hold the boot down first since the knob and the boot are attached to each other.

Yea, pry the center console around your shifter with your fingers. It just pops off. Unscrew the four screws or else if you just tug, you'll probably strip the plastic screw housing, or probably just break the plastic.
