Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel

I was looking through the online Chevy dealers website a few days ago & noticed that the 1LT didn't have the leather steering wheel... yes, I know

Just wanted to see if anybody with the 1LT has changed their steering wheel to leather (if it can be done).

If you order the Connectivity package on 1LT, you get leather steering wheel and shift knob.

Ohhh, really? The one that's on that site I'm looking at doesn't have the connectivity package... I wonder if they'd be able to add it if asked for it.

Meh, take it easy man. My 96 Z28 had cloth interior, but still came with leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter. It's not such a crazy thought as you make it out to be...

lol, i feel like going to a GM dealership and feeling what the steering wheel feels like without leather lol. I never noticed non-leather steering wheels. I guess i've been sitting/test driving LTs with Connectivity and SS's lol.

I had the non-leather shift knob. It still shifts the gears, but it's just not the same as the leather one I just put on. Without saying that you "need" something. You need the leather steering wheel and shift knob. It's awesome.

Connectivity package. Well worth it. I was on the fence about getting a 2LT vs a 1LT, adding this option and that. If I had to pick one that is a standard on the 2LT I would say the CC package is the one you want to have. The ability to plug in a thumb drive or MP3 player is awesome. Also I'm pretty sure the back up sensors are part of that package (a very nice thing to have).

Good luck on getting your car!

LOL! Thank god I'm not the only one who didn't know this (cause I felt like a complete ass). But yeah, I didn't know it didn't come with leather until I saw the pictures... I was like "OH! FML". I guess I'll have to find a 1LT with the Connectivity package. This 1LT that I found was great & for what I thought was a reasonable price.

The regular wheel looks so... plain & uncomfortable TBH. I've never driven a car that didn't have a leather wrapped wheel.

I switched out my non-leather wheel and shifter. Got the parts from gmpartsdirect.com. It was a pretty easy switch, although you have to be careful with the airbag. I think the whole thing cost me about $400. I would find one with the C&C package if you can. I am just too impulsive to not buy what's on the lot! I also added the interior panels and the gauges for around another $700. Definitely worth the $$ if you ask me. Does anyone have an LS3 I can borrow? I think it will go good with my interior.
