transmission!!!

okay so lately my car, when ive been in D or S mode. i stop at a light and when i press the gas it like stalls for like 2 seconds or until i reach 2k RPM and then it goes. it didnt bother me cause it rarely happened..

and today! i was on the freeway and i pressed the gas and it revved like i was in Nuetral! i was like uH OH! so i put it D and pressd the gas.. and it revved again. so i put it in nutruel and revved it twice and put it back in D then it was going. but it was shifting. so i went straight to the dealer in monrovia... i talked to the guy and i cudnt get a rental cuase im 21-______- dam BS! lmaoo anyways so the guy turns my car on to take it to the back. and a big RUGHHHLLKJGGGG sound is coming from my transmission.. the guy says maybe it might be a bearing.. but i guess theyr gunna get me a new transmission and hes gunna let me know how long it might take -_- ughh mann! right when i take 2 weeks off of work i cant have my car to enjoy it ! damm!

any one else have this problem by any chance?

btw sorry if its the wrong thread.

Isn't the dealer/GM supposed to provide some kind of courtesy vehicle for that type of warranty work?

I think you have to be 25+ to get a rental, even from a dealer, since they usually go through a regular rental company. But I don't know if a dealer can override this if it's their own car -- like a used car from the lot or something.

Why would you want to lemon? I don't really understand. You're taking it in once, and more than likely it'll be fixed. Even if they had to replace the transmission..it's still going to be fixed.

I guess I'm missing something.

My car delays from time to time...one time i almost got hit by a car when i gave it gas but it didnt move and a car was coming straight for my car...o and when my car was in the shop getting its strut mounts replaced the service manager asked me if i wanted a rental cuz my car was gonna be with them for like 4 days and i said no...but i was only 19 at the time so i guess the whole 25 and older rule doesn't apply to all dealerships...Two weeks ago i was given a rental since some lady crashed into my jeep and im only 20 years old yet enterprise still gave me a rental...

Courtesy transportation (or a rental vehicle in some instances) is given for repairs that take more than 1 business day to complete. If that is what is determined by the dealership then you can be reimbursed for many different types of transportation like public transit, fuel reimbursement for a friend or neighbor to pick you up from the dealer or rental car fees. In the case of a rental car the dealership will try their best to match you with either the same kind of vehicle or a suitable replacement for the vehicle being worked on. I hope that helps to answer one of your questions.

Ya when I took y dads mustang into ford they gave me a rental from
Enterprise.. But chevy deals with hertz and it's 21 plus.

And te dealer called me yesterday and said they're going to drive 30 miles to take a diagnostic. And later in te day e called again an said 2 codes are being thrown.
He called this morning again and said those 2 codes are electrical and is causing the cars shifting to not shift. And he said one of te codes were ummm think he said the transmission valve control or something like that I forgot. So I'm waiting for a call back again later today

update

sooo its been 2 and half weeks now.. and i still dont have my car..

it took them 1 week to finally decide that okay were gunna take ur transmission apart and look at it piece by piece

they took it apart and they said there was metal chunks and they have to rebuild the transmission..

they said there gunna order parts.. and this monday i started to get mad and complain because they gave us a nissan versa as a rental.. and they changed it to a chevy traverse..

then he said on tuesday that we need 2 parts.. and there on backorder..

the "WHOLE NATION" has on backorder and they cant get the part.. and i tell the service guy okay.. well cant u contact gm and get a new tranny.. OR get the 2 parts from where the tranny is built.. hes like theyr backordered.. im like okay so ur telling me there not building camaros as we speak.. he goes yes they are im like okay get the parts from them.. hes like were going to contact GM and see what we can do.. he calls me wedneday saying 1 part came and were waiting for another part.. i called HIM today to see what happened.. he said that last part is still on backorder and they dont no when they are going to get it.. HE ALSO just said theyr going to talk to a GM rep but hes vacation to see if they can just put a new transmission now.. so now its delayed till next week..

So much for ejoying my vacation.. -____- i havent had my car for the 2 weeks i was on vacationa and didnt get to enjoy it...

what a bummer..

u guys have any opinions on any of this?

they said to the 2 parts were 2 gears or something.. something with a shield as i recall.. dont quite remember exactly..
