Thinking about switching exhaust systems

So, This cam job is amazing.. the longtubes are amazing, the flowmaster catback sounds amazing.. but my neighbors are going to kill me!!!

Im thinking of switching my Flowmaster AT catback out for a magnaflow street catback with the resonator and the mufflers.

Do you think this would hopefully quiet my setup?

Thanks,

Zach

I think it will but will change the sound of your car. So you might want to consider that before you swap because you might not like the end result.

Im familiar with the magnaflow sound.. but I have to do something.. Flowmaster did not R&D their systems very well. I was going to buy their hushpower axleback and just make my exhaust where i could change the rear sections.. They are not built the same.. they dont have the same bends.. I thought that was silly.

The Magnaflow street should be a little calmer than the AMT ... but it may be possible and more cheaper if you swap the flowmaster mufflers with a hushpower set (non axle back - just the mufflers) of mufflers that would fit...cut them off at the ends and add em on... that might help.... unless you wanna spend a grand on a new one, go with the Magnaflow or maybe even the MBRP L99 exhaust with the resonator...and its a 3 inch exhaust as well ...just my little pennies worth

Glad for the feedback.. thinking of adding a Dual 3" in dual 3" out muffler to one end of the exhaust system or the other.. kindof "resonator style and hope this knocks out the huge roar.

Magnaflows are the absolute quietest of all the catbacks I've seen and heard.

Yes they are catted longtubes. It wasnt bad until the camswap, and now at highway speeds drone is off the charts.

i bought a doug thorley catback, havent installed it yet for obvious reasons. but they are saying it isnt as loud as most. but i also bought a set of Kooks headers with cats so it will make it louder.

Basically it is all about sound and what you like. I suggest cutting out the mufflers.

If it is drone that is getting you, it seems that everyone that has Corsa claims there is zero drone. I personally don't like the sound of Corsa, but if the drone from my Borla's drive me crazy after Vengeance Racing has completed my car, then I might swap to Corsa.

im pretty sure its from the bullet design. The classic who chambers are known for "roar" sound great old muscle sound.. almost thinking about tossing a couple slp mufflers in line somewhere to quiet it so it has that same two chamber sound out the back.

A great alternative to Corsa would be the Solo Mach-X, no drone and not as raspy as Corsa.
