Exclamation Could use some help fellas

Well, I've been waiting on a bottle of touch up paint from my dealer for over a month. My salesman told me they don't keep it in stock since synergy green is such a rare color to have. So they ordered it for me claiming it would take about 7-10 days to come. I figured that was reasonable enough.

Well what isn't reasonable is that it took much longer than that and on top of it all I tried applying some of the paint to a small rock chip on my front bumper today. To my surprise after shaking the bottle much longer than the 1 minute requirement in the directions, the paint goes on the car completely silver...

I looked in the bottle and it is clearly synergy green, though much darker than I expected. It's been several hours and has been sitting in the shade in 100 degree weather and is still silver. Not a hint of green anywhere in it.

I'm beyond frustrated and don't know what course of action to take.

What do you guys think? Should I take it back and ask the dealership to fix it under warranty? I suspect that the paint was not mixed correctly and has far more metallic particles in it than green paint.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Sorry to hear that, a picture might be helpful. If they messed up with the paint, they should repair it. IMO.

the paint takes a while to get cause its no longer kept on shelf at most dealerships....Reason it goes bad.....The other is that they are shipped via mail cause of hazardous materials act.....As for them fixing cause paint doesnt match....Highly Highly doubtful.....said chip happed as a result of an incident .....and they will say it should have been body shopped.....btw ya can remove said touch up blemish with some chemicals

Heres a pic of the touch up paint. The paint chip was tiny enough that having it body shop repaired would be out of the question. It was about the size of a ball point pen tip.

then attempting to have your dealership warranty it is equally out of said question.....Most metallic paints are damn near impossible to touch up .....they never ever match ...ya gotta remember your paint is a multistage paint .....one dab of anything aint gonna do anything!

Yea, i say some one screwed up and put the wrong paint in there. I suggest you pay a visit to the dealer and have them check that out.

yeah, i'd probably try and buff that back out and just live with a ball point sized chip.

I don't think its the wrong paint, I just think there isn't enough synergy green mixed with the metallic flakes. I'm guessing thats why it's going on silver instead of green. If the paint was mixed wrong then I should be able to get it repaired under warranty. I assume anyway.

If you want the paint to match go to a dealer who supplies paints to the body shops. He can mix up a pint. I believe that is the smallest amount for a good mix. It will cost you +/- $100.

I ordered my touch up paint from drcolorchip.com and it matches perfectly and completely covers the chips. I have repaired several chips w/ it and you cannot even tell where the touch ups were done. You will need the GM color code from your dealer or from the Chevy website. It comes in a 2-step process and only cost me around $50. Good luck!!!
