I saw the thread about the 2011 Camaros witht the V6 are rated at 312 HP I also have seen some vehicles on here that are 2010 that are labled 312 HP is that not right or am I missing something?? I thought the 2010's were rated at 304HP?

The 2010 was rated at 304hp because it just went off the ratings of the caddy cts. Now for 2011 it's the same motor ,but it is now SAE certified in the camaro at 312HP which means they can now advertise it at 312HP. For me I believe they did it that way to one up the 2011 V-6 mustang.

They never certified the 2010 engines so they used the Cadillac's 304 hp rating. For 2011 they certified the engines because they knew Ford was going to try and 1 up them with their new 3.7L. But GM never changed a thing in the engine between 2010 and 2011 model years. So a '304' hp 2010 will be just as fast as a 2011 with 312 hp because it does actually make 312 hp. Just not officially.
